Archive: Australian Inventory Levels for Herbicides Significantly Reduced
After three years of low demand, Australian inventory levels for herbicides such as Glyphosate have been significantly reduced. However, the dwindling supplies of glyphosate in Australia has little to do with the coronavirus pandemic and a lot more to do with the fact rain has finally arrived in many drought-parched areas of the cropping belt.
Whilst many suppliers are advising customers that they will not have enough stock to meet customer needs in the next 7-10 weeks, Greenway IVM has Glyphosate available this month (April).
With current shortages, and the slump in the Australian dollar, expect prices to rise, and to stay higher, even when higher volumes of product is available around May or June this year.
The current chemical market squeeze has been exacerbated by farmers, panicked by the coronavirus scare and the rundown in national inventory, wanting to secure a full season’s spray needs in one hit, leaving shortages for others to deal with.
